TM AVENU HAS BECOME A PART OF THE JAPANESE PHILOSOPHY OF LANDSCAPE ARRANGEMENT

The first stage of the reconstructed Kyoto Park has recently been opened in the Desnianskyi district of the capital. The green zone renovation project was developed by Shiro Nakane, one of the leading designers of traditional Japanese parks, in honor of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Japan.

Architects tried as far as possible to preserve the image and symbols inherent in Japanese gardens.

Pond with a waterfall in plantations of irises; Japanese flashlights; imitation of Mount Fuji; paths, and an entire island, to which 3 elegant bridges, laid out of pastel color tiles in a minimalist style, lead.

Ukrainians perceive the park landscape as architectural grace, but for the Japanese, each corner here has a profound philosophical meaning. We, as the producers of Avenue paving, are extremely impressed by the participation in such a project. In Kyoto Park, there are 12 thousand square meters of Linestone paving slabs, which perfectly harmonizes with the overall concept,” Yevheniya Plieshkova, Landscape Designer of Kovalska ICG, comments.

For reference

Kyoto Park appeared in the Ukrainian capital the following year after the signing of the Treaty on Brotherhood in 1971, as a sign of friendly relations between Kyiv and the cultural capital of Japan — Kyoto.

The sakura alley of this park was included in the Book of Records of Ukraine. Its length is 987.45 meters. 360 saplings were planted along the alley.
